About our client

With clients ranging from sole traders to companies with multimillion-pound turnovers, it provides a trusted service that covers everything from accounts preparation to tax planning and business advice.

The challenge

As an accountancy firm, this business needs to provide its clients with secure online access to upload financial information. When it consulted ECOM, the firm was using a system that was hosted at its own premises. Not only was this slow and difficult to use, but it meant that crucial data wasn’t backed up off-site.

The solution

ECOM undertook a full audit of the client’s systems and proposed a private cloud solution. Hosted on our own remote, secure servers, this brought all the company’s data into a single location. Importantly for clients using older accounting software, the new system includes legacy versions of the most popular packages – all served remotely. Because all data is securely encrypted and backed up off site, the new private cloud solution is now central to its business continuity strategy – as well as giving peace of mind to the firm and its clients. In addition, the system works seamlessly with software such as Office 365, which we helped the company migrate to.

Next Steps

We hope to help the firm respond to the changing needs of the accounting sector for years to come. The private cloud solution we created was designed to accommodate the growing needs of both the accountancy firm and its clients.
